R & D Cell has been established in SEACET since from the Academic year 2016-2017, to facilitate and encourage research culture among the faculty and students, under the affiliation of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.

Its prime role is to identify real world problems and provide solution through research methodologies, and also promote research through a range of publications.  It enables a congenial environment for technological development and monitors the research activities of the college.

The R&D Cell aims to reach the Vision and Mission of the college and able to submit research proposals for grants to different agencies like AICTE, VTU, VGST, K-BITS, KSCST etc. The publication statistics and citations are creditworthy. Obtaining patents is its one of the topmost priority.

The centre provides necessary infrastructure for students and faculties to conduct research projects in thrust areas of Science and Engineering like Machine Learning, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Image Processing, Cyber Security, Image Processing, Network Security, Big data and Internet of Things

We nurture young researchers by establishing specific area of research in order to keep pace with expanding frontiers of knowledge and global developments.

Objectives:

• To develop research skills among the faculty and students
• To promote and to encourage the aspiring students and faculty members to carry out research in the field of science, engineering and technology by providing necessary facilities and infrastructures required for them
• To identify real world problems and provide solution through research
• To work closely with the industrial needs that eventually will result in new or improved products, processes, systems or services that can increase the company’s productivity
• Innovative business activity creating added value in the global economy
• Innovation-friendly society aimed at long-term development
• To have Periodical interactive session with entrepreneurs/industrialists
• To enhance skill development training and self-employment opportunities and to serve government and society by taking up sponsored projects
