Mechanical Engineering Department was established in the year 2007 along with the Institute which is established in the same year under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and approved by AICTE. The department was built up with an area of 40,000 Sq.M. R & D centre approved by the VTU.

Dedicated R & D Lab established in the year 2017, The department faculty is actively involved in guiding research scholars leading to Ph.D. degree.
